CANCELLED: Big Welsh Weekend

1 May @ 6:00 pm - 4 May @ 3:00 pm BST

Free – £30

We love Wales and our members do too!

This meet is back by popular demand for climbing Saturday, Sunday & Monday

What's happening?

Where we will climb: The plan is climb in these places: Moelwyns – Clogwyn Yr Oen, Holyhead Mountain, Llewydd, Slate Quarries, Llanberis Pass – Carreg Wastad

This meet is slightly different to some of our other meets. We will be staying at a hut (tbc) in the Llanberis area. The hut will be booked out for Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights and to make things simple, there is a single price for accommodation and spaces are limited.

There will be no instructed courses this weekend, so you must be competent to tie in and belay to come to this meet. Why? We plan to do adventurous multi-pitch climbing and this isn’t for novices. There are lots of other meets for you if you want to learn the stuff you need to be safe climbing outdoors. This meet is ideal for people who want to take the next step in multi-pitch climbing.

Meet: 9am at the accommodation on Saturday, Sunday & Monday (if you’re not planning to stay over)

On the Day

For this meet you will need to arrive at the accommodation in the morning, as the group may go to different crags. For safety reasons, the organisers rarely use their mobile phones once at the crag, so if you text or call, you are unlikely to get a response. If you have questions, please ask in advance, and if you’re running late, text well before the start time of the meetup. Remember, your message may not get through if there is no reception!

Tickets for this Meetup are free for Womenclimb members who can tie in and belay. Information about different Meetup Ticket Types can be found here.

Please only order tickets for meetups you 100% intend to attend. If you do need to cancel, please do so at least 7 days in advance, to give others the opportunity to take your place.  Thank you for your help in making this a positive experience for everyone – mutual respect and understanding makes Womenclimb work. Tickets are limited, so that the ratio of competent leaders and climbers stays on the right side of safe and happy. Most leaders are happy to help new climbers, but sometimes they just want to smash out routes for a day with a competent friend. To give this flexibility and respect each others’ needs, we have the tickets system. If you order a ticket and don’t turn up for the session, you are taking a ticket from someone else who would love the ticket.

What's included?

A personal welcome by Womenclimb at the accommodation
