A day out rock climbing in the beautiful Rivelin valley with friendly people, filled with opportunities for informal peer learning, top roping, seconding and leading depending on what you fancy.
Rivelin Climbing Meetup: SHAFF
22 March @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pmFree
Meet: 10am prompt at Rivelin Reservoir Car Park (Put this into Google: 53.37590,-1.58490)
Where we will climb: Starting off at Kremlin Crack area
We wanted to try out a new place with good rock and shelter if it’s chilly. This seemed like an easy access, fun crag and we thought you might like it.
On the Day
If you’re new to our meetups we ask you to join us for our safety briefing and intro at the start of the Meetup. We’ve discovered that when we get to the crag it can be more difficult for people to locate us – especially if we’re half way up a route climbing! For safety reasons, the organisers rarely use their mobile phones once at the crag, so if you text or call, you are unlikely to get a response. If you have questions, please ask in advance, and if you’re running late, text well before the start time of the meetup.
Tickets for this Meetup are free for Womenclimb members who can tie in and belay. Information about different Meetup Ticket Types can be found here. If you can’t tie in and belay, this isn’t the meet for you – try our meet on Saturday at Stanage where you can do an Introduction to Climbing course.
Please only order tickets for meetups you 100% intend to attend. If you do need to cancel, please do so at least 7 days in advance, to give others the opportunity to take your place. Thank you for your help in making this a positive experience for everyone – mutual respect and understanding makes Womenclimb work. Tickets are limited, so that the ratio of competent leaders and climbers stays on the right side of safe and happy. Most leaders are happy to help new climbers, but sometimes they just want to smash out routes for a day with a competent friend. To give this flexibility and respect each others’ needs, we have the tickets system. If you order a ticket and don’t turn up for the session, you are taking a ticket from someone else who would love the ticket.
