5.4. Self Efficacy Self Questioning

Exercise: Self Efficacy Self-Questioning // Duration: 10mins (plus climbing – optional)

Reflect upon your own experiences. Describe at least one experience that relates to one of the 4 elements of self-efficacy? If you want to, go climbing and observe these elements at play in your familiar climbing environment.

Use the following to guide you (do not feel you need to answer everything):

  • Use climbing or a different activity
  • Describe the experience; reflect upon how the event made you feel and the affects of these feelings?
  • How did you feel about engaging in the sport?
  • How was your sports performance affected?
  • What impact does this have on your participation now and for the future?

Exercise: Self Efficacy Plan // Duration: 5 mins

Considering what you’ve discovered in relation to Successful Performance. When you go climbing in the future is there anything that you would like to do differently? If there is, consider the following:

  • What do I want to achieve?
  • What things would I do differently? Break this down into measurable actions.
  • When will I start?

When you’ve considered these questions, write down your plan and get started.
