If you’re one of our many facebook followers, you’ve no doubt seen the incredible amount of entries to the BMC TV/Womenclimb “Women In Adventure Film” competition we were sharing throughout February. The winner (yet to be announced) will have their film shown at the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival (ShAFF), which runs from 22-24th March 2019.

BMCTV & Womenclimb Women In Adventure Film Screening & Panel Session: 23rd March, 5.30pm
Join WAF judges Artistic Director at Kendal Mountain Festival Claire Carter, Founder & Editor of Womenclimb Emily Pitts and Adventure Film Producer & Director Emma Brennand as they host the session. The panel will be discussing the key themes brought up in the showcased films and there will be interviews with the filmmaker themselves. During the session, films shortlisted for the BMC TV Women in Adventure Film Competition 2019 will be screened, and the competition winners will be announced!
British Women Climb photo exhibition: from 18th March onwards
British Women Climb exhibition celebrates those British women who have been instrumental in paving the way in mountaineering and climbing through the ages. From the likes of Lizzie Le Blond (aka Elizabeth Hawkins) with her photo of what’s likely the first mountain selfie all the way up to two-time Boulder World Cup Champion Shauna Coxsey. Walk among these inspiring female climbers and mountaineers and feel inspired.
Up & Running – a night run around Sheffield city: 22nd March, 7.30pm
Friday night of ShAFF will see a night run taking place from the Showroom, conveniently timed to get back just in time to watch ‘Run Films 1’ at 21:30. The run is being organised by Sheffield running shop Up & Running.
