Why is the session running and why is it free?
We recently ran an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for Womenclimb. To say thanks to our North west-based contributors and to extend what we do to more women we are hosting the ‘Train for Climbing’ event for free with climber and trainer Laura Zambianchi. The PT Hut is a super friendly environment and Laura is an experienced and high achieving climber, as well as being a personal trainer. Emily Pitts is the founder of Womenclimb and will be at the session as a guinea pig for demonstrations!
Aim of Train for Climbing Session
To introduce you to the idea of training either for general fitness or more specifically for climbing. We’ve found that we get a lot of motivation from being around other women while training, so this is a women only session. During the session you will take part in a series of different exercises that work various parts of your body. Laura will explain the exercises, show you what to do and oversee as you complete them. There will be 10 different ‘stations’, one for each activity.

6.30pm Warm up
6.45pm – 7.45pm Main Session
7.45pm Warm down
8pm – 9pm Social, snacks, drinks & a chance to pick Laura’s brains
Main Session outline
The activities have been chosen by Laura to demonstrate the variety of things you can do in a gym to help you achieve your goals, whether that’s topping out on a 6b, climbing 7c+ or getting generally more fit and healthy. Here are some of the things you can choose from:
Monkey Bars, Weights, Bouldering Prowler, Push-ups & Sit-ups. Before you cringe at the thought of any of these exercises we must tell you that this is a fun session, designed for you to find out ways of enjoying your time training, meeting new people and having a training session for FREE!
What’s the social?
We will provide some healthy post session snacks and drinks so that you can get to know us and other people at the session. It’s a very relaxed affair.
