But what IS mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a simple form of meditation that helps us develop the ability to maintain moment by moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations as they come and go without passing critical judgement. It helps us harness acceptance and compassion towards ourselves and others.  It involves observing your thoughts as they pass through your mind, seeing your thoughts for what they are, allowing space for choice.

So how can it help my climbing?

You can develop skills to harness the:

  • The ability to deal effectively with stressful situations
  • Improved focus and clarify
  • Greater awareness of your body and mind
  • Greater confidence on the wall and off
  • Skills for problem solving and creativity
  • Help with chronic pain and injuries
