Hey, thanks for showing an interest in Womenclimb. As an organisation, we have been around for a number of years and we have already had some great successes, creating a climbing community around the UK to support and promote women to achieve great things, not just in climbing!
We have spent the last 18 months evaluating how best to improve the support and services we provide, we have taken consultation from external companies, business specialists and friends and family. Together we now have a clear vision of how we can develop Womenclimb into a national and international network of female climbers, enabling more and more women to take their first steps into a climbing wall, their first trad lead or to find climbing partners to enable them to crush their next alpine objective.
In short, to achieve the quality of service we are aiming for, we need some help, so here’s a word from our founder, Emily:
“I founded the Womenclimb movement all the way back in 2013, with just a single article on a blog. Since then, Womenclimb has evolved and we’ve made steady progress; we’ve worked with many volunteers including professional athletes over the last few years and I’m really grateful for the support they have already shown. Now we need some help so we can deliver on our new strategy. We are clear on what we want to achieve and how we can achieve it and we have a range of exciting volunteer positions available, from bloggers and social media positions to enable us to inform and communicate with our members, to regional representatives who will become the local voice and driving force in the community. This will give our members the support network they need, no-matter where they are. We need positive, aspirational people with a great attitude and the ability to learn new skills, to make this happen. You don’t need to be perfect (after all none of us are), but you do need to be energetic and passionate about doing some amazing things. In return you will be an integral force, belonging to one of the largest climbing communities in the UK. You will get a chance to learn new skills, meet new people, inspire others and get out climbing.
Have a read of the positions we have open and if you feel you have the drive to give it a go, get in touch, we can’t wait to hear from you!”.
